Classical Music
As your editor I would like to share a lifelong love and appreciation of classical music and ballet.

As a small child I was brought up surrounded by music. I started learning to play the piano at the age of four and the cello at the age of six. I was taken to a concert in St Cuthbert´s Church in Edinburgh to hear Rostropovich play the Bach Cello Suites and the one thing I wanted when it was finished was to learn to play the cello! I also won prizes at school including a special medal in my final year for the piano.

Saturday mornings and afternoons were spent first at the Glasgow Arts Centre and then the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama Junior School. I then studied music at Napier College and gained the ALCM and LLCM (TD). Finally I went to Liverpool University and achieved my honours degree in music.

My interest in music continues to this day. I attend concerts on occasion and watch music-related films and ballet. I also attend the Aldeburgh Festival and have in the past been to the Edinburgh Festival. My father and I both have large collections of music related CD´s and DVD´s and I look forward to sharing this lovely lifestyle with you, my readers.
